The RainPillow cistern is made here in the USA ! The material is a three layer system with a polyester scrim coated on both sides with a PVC polymer alloy. The scrim supports the polymer alloy and also prevents the material from stretching. The PVC polymer alloy is a non-crystalline polymer that is UV protected. The non-crystalline structure also reduces the UV damage. The pillow material has been used for fish farm pond liners, reservoirs, and tank liners for leaking steal water tanks. The history of these type of installations that have sun exposure are providing 20 plus years of useful life. In a protected location one can expect an even longer useful life expectancy.
